Fujitsu Ten folds up Eclipse Car Audio division

Fujitsu Ten Corporation has announced it will be shutting down its retail channels for mobile electronics brand “Eclipse”. According to our sources, Fujitsu Ten will remain working with automotive OEM's, but plans to phase itself out of aftermarket and retail sectors. The official announcement is expected in the next few weeks. This comes after speculation about Eclipse's future after being notably absent from CES.

The loss of Eclipse in the market place is symptomatic of the decline in the car audio industry in recent years, and is a major loss in the high end equipment market place.
