Pioneer Car Electronics Hits the Road
Pioneer Car Electronics Hits the Road
Leading Car Audio and Navigation Manufacturer Blankets the Nation by Partnering with Hot Rod Power Tour, DUB Show Tour and Others. Long Beach, CA 6/8/2010
No matter where car audio and automotive enthusiasts are this summer, Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. Car Electronics Division won’t be far. The manufacturer responsible for being the first to bring a single CD player into the dashboard, detachable faceplate technology, smart phone integration and most recently, touchscreen control of Pandora® internet radio into the car, is hitting the road along with its top retailers at some of the most popular auto enthusiast tours and events including the Hot Rod Power Tour, the DUB Show, the Car Craft Summer Nationals, the Lowrider Tour and EnduroCross.
“We all know that automotive enthusiasts are not only very passionate about their vehicles, but also about listening to music when they’re driving, in the shop working on their vehicles or attending events. As the leading manufacturer of car audio products, Pioneer shares their passion for the combination of music and cars,” said Ted Cardenas, director of marketing for the car electronics department, sales and marketing division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. “At each event we’ll be introducing enthusiasts to our wide range of car audio, video, and navigation products, connecting them with some of our top dealers, and showcasing the skills of the local installer in their own backyards.”
Live Installations at the Hot Rod Power Tour
At each stop of the seven-day, seven-city Hot Rod Power Tour (June 5-12), a local Pioneer professional dealer/installer will carry out a live installation of an entire Pioneer car audio system in one lucky participant’s hot rod. Photos of the completed installations will be uploaded each day to Pioneer’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/PioneerNorthAmerica) and Pioneer’s FitFotos (fitfotos.pioneerelectronics.com) website, a photo database that showcases its professional dealer installations and helps consumers to visualize the fit of Pioneer’s car audio and video products in their vehicles.
Pioneer will also continue its partnership with award-winning concept vehicle design and fabrication studio Five Axis and debut a special Pioneer-edition 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, which will make the 1200-mile journey from the tour’s first stop in Newton, Iowa to the last in Mobile, Ala.
“We’re seeing more customers come from the hot rod and muscle car community,” said Cardenas. “While they may be purists about many aspects of their cars, they still love their music and desire sound quality that matches the high performance of their cars.”
In-Dash Internet Radio on Display at the DUB Show Tour 2010
The DUB Show Tour is a series of events merging urban custom car culture, celebrities and their vehicles, and the natural mix of cars and music. Pioneer is exhibiting at each stop on the tour with a customized Scion xB equipped with the brand’s latest innovation: in-dash Internet radio. Using either of Pioneer’s 2010 in-dash navigation receivers, the flagship AVIC-Z120BT or the mid-level AVIC-X920BT, combined with the PandoraLink for Pioneer iPhone App, consumers can now listen to and control their favorite Pandora internet radio stations right from the dash of their car. The booming audio created by Pioneer’s Stage 3 amplifiers, subwoofers and car speakers is also sure to draw a crowd to the Pioneer booth at each tour stop.
“Consumers are quickly becoming familiar with the variety of music and personalization of listening that is afforded by internet radio. The integration of Pioneer in-dash navigation, the iPhone®, and Pandora internet radio now brings that same listening experience into the car,” said Cardenas. “The DUB Show Tour gives Pioneer an opportunity to demonstrate in-car internet radio and our full line of car electronics products to an enthusiastic group of customers that love their cars and love their music.”
Car Craft Summer Nationals, Lowrider Tour and EnduroCross
Pioneer will exhibit the Five Axis Pioneer-edition 1969 Chevrolet Camaro at the Car Craft Summer Nationals, July 16 at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds in St. Paul, Minn. Pioneer staff will roam the event on a special Pioneer-edition golf cart, looking for enthusiasts with Pioneer car stereo installed in their cars. Staff members from a local Pioneer dealer will also be on hand to answer questions and hand out incentives to the mob of street machiners.
At each stop of the Lowrider Tour events, Pioneer has reserved a space for a local dealer to showcase a custom demo vehicle of their own. Show-goers who stop by the Pioneer booth will also have an opportunity to win cool Pioneer prizes.
Pioneer is the exclusive car audio sponsor of the Geico 2010 EnduroCross series. During each event, pro riders take turns on the course alone, pulling out every stop to hit the fastest time and win the Pioneer Pro Hot Lap. A local Pioneer dealer at each event will be exhibiting their demo vehicles, answering questions, and handing out giveaways and incentives in the pit area.
