Had a buddy ask me to design for him a nice SMALLER enclosure to suit his Alpine Type R 12". This is what I came up with:

1.6 cubes, single 4" port @ 12" length. If you use 16mm MDF (double up for the baffle).. thats 14" x 14" x 18", thats pretty small !
You'll need to set the subsonic on your amp to 30hz, as it rolls off extremely steeply after its tuning frequency (35hz). -3dB @ 31hz.

It'll give a nice bass boost between 37hz & 60hz (4dB average), with a good response up to 120hz (1dB gain).

I think they sound pretty good in 1.5-1.7 cubes tuned to 32-35Hz. A 4" dia port would be the bear minimum I would use.
PB- 148.1dB
Goal- 150dB
